Two years of weekly shipping to Guyana and Paramaribo, Suriname

Roughly two years ago, we began - a weekly service - shipping between Europe and Guyana as part of the Europe Caribbean Line, complementing our already existing bi-weekly service to Paramaribo and Georgetown. Since it’s inception, we’ve sailed this route at least once a week carrying cargo of every shape, size, and description for personal and commercial customers.
The growing trade between Europe and Guyana and Suriname, particularly the boom in offshore oil and gas extraction in the region, mean this service is as busy as ever. We’ve handled complex shipments of extraction machinery, parts, and tools for the expanding energy section, along with a wide variety of other cargo including loose pallets, containerised goods, temperature-controlled cargo, vehicles, and steel products.
At Vertraco, we run two services that regularly call at both Guyana and Paramaribo in Suriname. They are the Reefer Service and the South Caribbean Service.
The Reefer Service
Our Reefer Service operates a weekly service between Europe and Guyana and Suriname. Leaving from Dover (UK) or Flushing (Vlissingen, NL), the service arrives twice monthly in Paramaribo, Suriname and arrives every week at Georgetown, Guyana. The South Caribbean Service
The South Caribbean Service calls at Georgetown, capital of Guyana, and Paramaribo in Suriname once or twice per month, stopping at a variety of European ports and other South American ports along the way there and back.
Our vessels journeys on the South Caribbean Service begin and end in Antwerp, and along with Georgetown and Paramaribo, regularly call at Flushing, Hull (UK), Point Lisas (TT), and Aviles (ES). Other, less regular ports of call, include Bilbao (ES), Kingstown (JM), Bridgetown (BB), Puerto Cabello (VE), Linden (GY), and Rotterdam (NL). If there is sufficient cargo, we are able to arrange stops at other ports along the route of the South Caribbean Service to suit the needs of our customers, both in South America and in Europe.
